Whether you are looking for information or assistance through one of our programs, looking for a career where you can help individuals in their time of need, or looking for an organization to support where you can be assured that your generosity is accomplishing exactly what you want, then this website should help you in making these critical decisions.

Catholic Guardian Society and Home Bureau (CGSHB) offers important social services to people in need from the very beginning of life to our residents’ golden years:

From maternity services for expectant young mothers to residential programs for seniors with disabilities;
From family day care for working families in the Bronx to therapeutic foster boarding homes for mentally ill teens;
From family counseling to avoid foster care placements to adoption services for children in need of new and loving families; and
From shelters for homeless women and their children to specialized congregate care programs for particularly troubled foster care youth.

We are fortunate to be able to respond to the call to help so many in need. We do this in concert with our partners in the Archdiocese of New York, Catholic Charities, government contractors, fellow nonprofit organizations, and our many faithful supporters. Together, we reach thousands of New Yorkers in need on a daily basis.

There is great need in this world, and CGSHB responds to some of those needs. We do so in a manner that respects the dignity of those we serve; and we offer them a message of hope. It is our hope that the information and images contained in this website will provide you with an insightful glimpse into the wonderful work that happens at CGSHB.
